2018 Church Staff

  • Kenneth D. Taylor

    PAstor

Greetings! I started here at Saint Nicholas in October of 2016 and was officially installed on January 29, 2017. My family and I (partner and best friend Mandi, McKenna 12, Maddi 10, and Mason 5) just moved here from Strum, Wisconsin, about 30 minutes outside of Eau Claire. I am a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music (BM, MM) and a former Music Director at St. Andrew Lutheran in Las Vegas, Nevada. I went to Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa with an internship at Prince of Peace, and Beitel Memorial Lutheran churches in San Antonio, TX. Besides being a pastor, I am a member of the Order of Lutheran Franciscans (lutheranfransicans.org) preparing for my Life Profession in the order, hopefully this summer.

I love spending time with family, reading, listening to and playing music, singing in our amazing choir, and I enjoy learning about a plant-based, whole food lifestyle.

I would love to have you come by and meet us at Saint Nicholas some upcoming Sunday. There are amazing people here who love God, and love people.

Peace, and stuff ~ brother ken

  • Franklyn "Bonnie" Johnson-Williams

    Director of Music Ministries

I thank God for the opportunity to serve as Director of Music at Saint Nicholas. Since my appointment in October of 2017, God has been doing amazing things in the Ministry of Music and the community at large. My passion for music in church is collaborative worship with everybody using their gifts and talents in adoration to God. In the Music Ministry at Saint Nicholas, there’s a place for everyone - we have our dedicated Chancel Choir performing both traditional and contemporary music, Saint Nicholas Orchestra comprising of church family members who can play any musical instrument, a Guitar Ensemble, a Jazz Band, Female Choir, Male Choir, an emerging Youth Band, Children’s Choir and various soloists. No matter your musical skills or lack thereof, we have a place for you in our music ministry. “If you can talk, you can sing; if you can walk, you can dance.” We also provide one-to-one music tuition for both children and adults.

I have been used by God to be a blessing to various institutions, especially empowering young people to have a place in worship. God made it possible for me to study at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where I graduated with a Masters in Music Education. Since then I have been traveling all over the world performing, teaching, directing choirs, building church ministries and touching lives through music.

I am so excited about all that is happening at Saint Nicholas. The beat goes on..
